Most people love there stay at Los Almendros. We think you will too.

We stayed at Unit #42 and felt fortunate to have such a complete home away from home. Everything we needed was right there. We loved staying at Los Almendros for several reasons: The short walk to the beach was perfect. On the return, we could stop at the pools and shower off before walking in to the condo. We loved eating at Father Roosters! What a pleasure to dine on the sand overlooking the little bay. The fish was cooked to perfection every time we ate there. We enjoyed being at the condo to relax and look at the changing view of the bay; we enjoyed the flowers, the little crabs scurrying by, and our neighbors. This was one of the finest vacations we have ever had.
We stayed in unit #3 with the beach just steps from the back gate. This is a very large three-bedroom unit with kitchen and living room. If you want a beach experience, this is perfect. Excellent snorkeling, kayaking or swimming only steps away. There were only two of us, but the unit could easily accommodate six. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
We loved our stay in Costa Rica and Los Almendros was a perfect place for home base. We had a fun filled vacation with friends, and made new friends along the way! The condo owners were extremely helpful in recommending places for groceries, including a local farmer's market where we bought fresh papaya and other wonderful fruit and vegetables. The condo was clean and neat, and I was delighhted to find a really good stash of books and movies. We had coffee every morning on the deck, overlooking the ocean (easily accessible). The pools and common areas were beautifully maintained. One of the pools was just across the street! The owners also recommended Mardigi Tours and we knew right away that this company was a gem. We took four tours with them and every one was our favorite! Check them out on TripAdvisor too!
Absolutely fabulous experience! We initially booked just the lock-out portion of a full unit, without a kitchen and without a view, which I don't recommend. The next morning we went to the office and asked if they had any ocean views available. They showed us Units 35 & 37. They were both great, but Unit 37 was stunning -- exceptional...
This was our 5th trip to this complex.
As usual, we were welcomed with open arms to our "New Family", the employees of Los Almendros. All of the employees are just wonderful, very friendly and very hard working. The gardens, grounds and pools are cleaned every day. All of the employees are very willing to help where ever needed. The week before we left for Costa Rica, I had called the office and talked to Stefani and I asked a huge favor from her, which I know that is not in her daily routine, but she did what I asked of her.
The villa we rent is one of the older ones, and could use a few touch ups, but for us it was fine. We have our own little splash pool and are just steps from the big pool and the beach.
There are newer villas there which I believe are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but with Ocean View. Some of the older villas have been upgraded.
Would we go back again, IN A HEARTBEAT; actually Jan. 2015 we'll be back.
We stayed in a 2 bdrm beachfront in December and you can't beat the location! It was so nice to grab a coffee and go for an early morning beach walk waiting for the teens to wake up, or a quick walk to the tidal pools at low tide. We drove by other places we looked at, and while many were quite lux with amazing views, the fact that you had to shuttle or drive to the beach every time lost out. Coco beach, about 5 mins, has great restaurants, groceries and alot going on - handy but Ocotal was peaceful. A myriad of birds at the inifinity pool right out our door, and the main pool a few minutes walk. We had a blast at the mudbaths at Las Hornillas, Miravelles Volcano and saw lots of wildlife on a river tour of Palo Verde. Our unit had air in the bedrooms, but comfortable sleeping with the window open and listening to the crashing surf. We have already booked Los Almendros for the Guanacaste portion of next winter's trip!
